The Life and Person of Jesus Christ (Part I)

Jesus

Dear Readers, Beloved of God,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! What you see before you, is part one of a four part series, of a study into the life and person of Jesus Christ. We will journey into the Word of God and decidedly determine, and forever put to rest, who the Son of God is! We will discover His uniqueness, observe what qualifies Him as the Son, and along the way fall deeply in love with Him. If you are presently not a believer and find yourself seeking Truth, I encourage you to listen to that still small voice in your heart as you read. If you already believe, enjoy a fresh look at your Savior and pray for those blinded from the truth! Is Jesus the Son of God? We shall see…

I find it very difficult to write about the Life and teachings of Jesus. Brilliant penmanship and the most eloquent of languages truly cannot begin to describe Him! Any attempt at all must flow out of relationship with Him, remembering that there is always room for deeper love and understanding. Often, it is nearly impossible to convey the spiritual through natural language, and requires an experience, or revelation, to communicate at all! Jesus is not just someone to “know”, He is very much someone to “experience”!

“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;”

(Philippians 3:7-9) NKJV

Is Jesus the Son of God?

This is an age old question and one still argued in our day. There are those that remain, who do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God and will challenge for proof. I must point out here that the Bible is the proof needed, but one must first believe the Bible to be the inspired and infallible Word of God. Jesus is the Word made flesh! (John 1:14)

The answer can only be found in the Word of God! This fact has to be settled before the study of His life, and a relationship with Him established. If you find in your heart, that you are asking this question, it is because God the Father is drawing you near and I caution against ignoring His leading!

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, ‘ And they shall all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.”

(John 6:44-45) NKJV

We have thus far laid a solid foundation. We shall turn to the Word of God to further build upon our faith and answer the question: Is Jesus the Son of God?

There is one more important piece of information we must have knowledge of before we begin our journey; The Word of God defines and qualifies itself!

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness…”

(2 Timothy 3:16) NKJV

I am going to conclude with part one here. As we read with an open and teachable heart, may God give us “eyes to see and ears to hear!” In part two, we will observe some prophecies concerning the Son of God! Be sure to come back! I am sure you will be blessed!
